PhotoImpact 11: Easy Image Editing

PhotoImpact 11To help your photos look as good as the pros, InterVideo/Ulead has just released PhotoImpact 11, their new PC image editing software. Widely used by professional photographers, it is designed to help the beginners have success with their first set of photos and take advantage of the high-end digital photography tools when they are ready.

PhotoImpact 11 includes new My Workspace modes and an easily customizable interface. Priced under $90, the software lets digital photographers experiment and find new ways to creatively express themselves.

The My Workspace interface has five pre-defined modes and also allows you to customize and save your personal workspace layouts. The new large, easy-to-identify icons give you direct access to the most commonly used tools and specially configured menus and toolbars simplify the user interface for first time or casual users. You can choose between basic photo, standard photo, graphics, web and advanced modes to make it easy for you to acquire, browse, enhance and share images.

For more advanced and professional photographers the package includes RAW/DNG support to capture full camera-image quality. With Photo Explorer 8.6 which is included with the software you can browse and batch convert your RAW video files. With PhotoImpact 11’s enhanced 16-bit editing you’ll be able to take advantage of automatic and manual processing tools to adjust color and correct images in high-quality 48-bit color depth.

The new SmartCurves capability gives users high-quality tonal correction tailored for their camera. And for perfect photocompositions, the software includes SmartRemove Scene Compositor which lets users selectively paint out moving elements from multiple shots of the same scene to compose an image with just the elements they want. In addition to removing unwanted elements, it also makes it possible to create dramatic original photos by combining shots with people or objects appearing in different poses or locations.

With the latest version of PhotoImpact, InterVideo/Ulead included non-destructive layer masks which allow you to blend images and objects into a single creative composition. It also includes a new save for mobile option that automatically formats your creative work to the correct size, color depth, file format and file size for displaying photos on cellphones, iPods, PSPs and other mobile devices.
