The Kitano New York Announces Valentine’s Day Package

January 28, 2008 – With its magnificent restaurants, world-class entertainment and spectacular sites, New York City has always been an ideal romantic getaway. This Valentine’s weekend, The Kitano New York, the city’s first and only Japanese-owned hotel, invites couples to enjoy a romantic rendezvous in the city with its Valentine’s Day Package, valid the nights of February 14, 15 and 16, 2008.

With rates starting at $450 per night (plus tax), the special offer includes deluxe accommodations for two, chilled champagne upon arrival, complimentary admission for two to a live jazz performance in the hotel’s Bar Lounge (food and beverage charge not included), a 15 percent discount for a Valentine’s dinner at the Garden Café, breakfast for two and a late check-out to enjoy the city at your leisure.

For a romantic dinner for two, The Garden Café, which features a wide variety American and European inspired cuisine in a tranquil setting, will feature a special prix fixe, three-course menu for $75 per person (not including package discount) from February 14-16. Guests will begin the meal by enjoying a glass of Chateau Langlois Cremant de Loire Rosé followed by sumptuous first-course selection such as Fresh Malpeque Oysters with Cucumber-Shallot Mignonette or Sliced Bresola with Arugula and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The restaurant will feature dishes such as Lobster Pot Pie with Caramelized Root Vegetables and Chanterelles and Roasted Rack of Lamb with Fingerling Potatoes and Ratatouille for the main course, and the meal will be topped off by a decadent dessert choice of Chocolate Fondue for Two, Mille Crêpe with Banana Foster Sauce or Cheese Cake with Passion Fruit Sauce. Following the meal, guests will enjoy a live jazz performance in The Kitano Bar Lounge, considered by many as one of the city’s top venues for live jazz performances. Valentine’s weekend performers include Johannes Enders Quartet on February 14 and Harry Allen and Joe Cohn Classic Jazz Quartet on February 15-16. Throughout the performance, guests are invited to enjoy the Bar Lounge’s relaxing setting while they listen to the smooth beats and dine on a variety of light fare. In addition, the lounge also features an extensive and innovative drink menu. Jazz reservations are suggested as space is limited.
