Priceline.com Offers Long Weekend Getaways for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

January 11, 2008--Priceline.com said today that it has plenty of airline tickets, hotel rooms, vacation packages, cruises and rental cars available for the upcoming long weekend associated with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 21).

As the first long weekend of the year, travelers are drawn in many different directions. Some use the time to explore our nation’s African American heritage. Atlanta is Dr. King’s birthplace and home to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, Freedom Hall and the King Library. In Washington, DC, travelers can visit the Lincoln Memorial, where Dr. King delivered his “I Have A Dream” speech, and read Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in the National Archives.

For others, the January 19-21 long weekend is an opportunity to leave winter’s cold behind for a few days on a sunny beach. For skiers and snowboarders, this is the first major ski weekend of the new year, and most parts of the country have received lots of fresh powder.

Priceline.com recommended the following travel deals for the upcoming long weekend. As with all deals, prices and availability can change at any time. For full details, visit www.priceline.com or www.priceline.com/pricebreakers.
