Grand Isle Villas Announces Name Change, Planned Improvements

November 2, 2006 -- Grand Isle Villas, a community of 78 luxurious ocean and golf course villas located in Great Exuma, Bahamas, has changed its name to Grand Isle Resort. The change was made to more accurately reflect its status as a world-class resort offering a complete luxury vacation getaway for its guests.

In addition to the name change, Grand Isle Resort is in the midst of numerous modifications designed to further enhance the guest experience. Major improvements to be made include:

POOL AREA EXPANSION
The Grand Isle Resort features a spectacular pool pavilion including a 3,600 square foot infinity pool, whirlpool spa, fitness center and the tropical Pallapa Bar and Grill. The pool deck is now being expanded to provide additional seating, as well as privacy, to guests. Fire pits and chimineas will also be available for enjoyment of the pool area on cooler evenings. As of December 1, 2006, The Pallapa Bar and Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, providing even more dining options for patrons.

NEW ON-PROPERTY SPA
One of the most exciting additions to Grand Isle Resort will be a new spa, scheduled to open to guests of the resort as of Summer 2007. A full range of spa treatments will be offered, providing the ultimate opportunity to relax and revitalize. In the meantime, a limited menu of spa treatments is available for guests in cabanas on the sandy white beach, allowing them to enjoy the beautiful setting while they are pampered.

NEW GUEST AMENITIES
As of December 15, 2006, complimentary continental breakfast will be provided for guests of Grand Isle Resort each day, as well as evening canapés, all freshly prepared in the kitchens of the Pallapa Bar and Grill. A bottle of preferred beverage of choice will also be waiting in the villa upon arrival. Grand Isle Resort will now also provide complimentary airport transfers for its guests.

KIDS' CLUB
In an effort to enhance the Grand Isle Resort experience for its youngest guests, a Kids' Club will debut in Winter 2006, with daily events and activities planned especially for children. Kids will be grouped from ages 3-7 and ages 8-12 in order to provide age-appropriate experiences. The Kids' Club will be located in a cabana on the beach for fun-in-the-sun themed games and activities. Children will be enriched and entertained by the Kids' Club, while parents will gain some additional free time for rest and relaxation.

OUTDOOR WATER SPORTS
Grand Isle Resort has hired a Boat Captain and is offering guests the opportunity to charter a 35-food Marlago for deep sea fishing, island tours, sailing or a private picnic on a nearby island. Currently, complimentary snorkeling equipment and kayaks are provided for guests of Grand Isle Resort. Beginning December 1, 2006, hobie cats will also be available to provide another option for guests to enjoy the beautiful waters surrounding Great Exuma.

In addition to the planned enhancements, Grand Isle Resort will continue to offer the outstanding amenities and recreational opportunities it has in the past. Among the highlights are:

  • An 18-hole Greg Norman designed, oceanfront golf course
  • six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts
  • access to the nearby Casino at Emerald Bay
  • Exuma sight-seeing tours
  • the all-new mega-yacht marina at Emerald Bay.
