New Weber Char Q Grill Brings Style and Portability to Charcoal GrillingNov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber-Stephen Products Co. introduced its new Weber Char Q portable charcoal grill today -- a product that further extends its wildly popular line of Weber® Q™ portable and stationary cart gas grills. In stores this month, the Weber Char Q looks similar to the company's six Weber Q gas grills with the same unique, futuristic, and European design. While among the most portable in the line (it weighs only 32 pounds), this charcoal grill packs a solid punch under its durable cast-aluminum lid. "The new Weber Char Q grill is for charcoal lovers who have long admired the style and portability of our Weber Q gas grills," said Ernie Boys, Weber-Stephen Products Co. VP of Product Management. "Because of its ingenious design, the Weber Char Q doesn't require a lot of charcoal to cook at optimum temperatures. Plus, its two porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grates allow the outdoor chef to get the best sear marks possible from a portable charcoal grill -- particularly on steaks and fish." Boys also said that introducing an outdoor charcoal grill as winter approaches is timely, as, "Our latest third-party research shows that charcoal grill users are just as likely to grill out for Christmas and New Year's as gas grill users. Our research also shows that 62 percent of tailgaters who bring the grill to the party are opting for charcoal." With its 280 square inches of total cooking area, the new Weber Char Q is 26.4 inches high (with the lid open), 18.6 inches deep, and 31.7 inches wide. At a manufacturer suggested retail price of $179, the grill also has a removable catch pan for easy clean-up of drippings and ashes; an aluminized steel charcoal basket to hold the coals below the grates; and top and bottom dampers to skillfully control airflow and grilling temperature. Like its Weber Q gas grill predecessors, the Weber Char Q has cool add-on accessories to enhance its versatility:
