New 15-Day Forecast Widget for Apple iPhoneJuly 19, 2007—AccuWeather.com today announced that it has launched a widget for Apple’s new iPhone that is also usable on the Apple Macintosh OS X dashboard. Early responses to the AccuWeather.com 15-Day Forecast Widget for iPhone have been very positive, earning it praise from third-party sources such as CNET and MediaPost’s Mobile Insider. The widget is superior to the iPhone’s pre-loaded weather information in that it provides 15-day forecasts, detailed radar and satellite maps, three pre-saved locations, and access to weather information for over three million locations worldwide. It also provides severe weather alerts for all U.S. locations. "AccuWeather.com is proud to provide the best weather widget available for the iPhone," said Jim Candor, Senior Vice President of New Media for AccuWeather.com. "Weather is consistently one of the most popular types of information on each emerging medium and mobile device and we are confident that the same interest will exist on the iPhone." The 15-Day Forecast Widget is available for free download on AccuWeather.com. Other free AccuWeather.com downloads serve Mac users, FireFox users, Opera users, and web site/blog webmasters. Free email alerts and a next-generation desktop application are also available. All downloads and services are simple, free, and are available through the AccuWeather.com Download Center.
