Levinson Jewelers Names Breast Cancer Necklace the “Soraya Ribbon”

August 2006 --Following Latin singer/songwriter Soraya’s passing on May 10, 2006, Levinson Jewelers, one of the leading independent jewelry stores in the country, has announced that the “Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace,” designed in 2003 by Levinson Jewelers in conjunction with jewelry designer Barry Kronen and Soraya to help raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer, has officially been named as the “Soraya Ribbon” in memory and tribute to the Latin Singer and Songwriter who succumbed to breast cancer. A beautiful 18kt rose gold pink sapphire and diamond necklace featuring the breast cancer awareness ribbon, which was previously offered in three sizes, will now be available in an additional size, priced at $500, $2,000, $3,000 and $5,000. 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Soraya’s name.

The necklace created by jewelry designer Barry Kronen and Levinson Jewelers was originally designed for Soraya. Soraya always strived to educate the Hispanic community about the importance of breast cancer screenings and was a spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
