JVC Launches Mother’s Day Video Contest

April 7, 2008 – JVC today announced the launch of the “Here’s Looking at Me, Mom” JVC Everio Mother’s Day Video Contest, offering participants a chance to win a Grand Prize package of two new Everio GZ-MG330 hard disk camcorders, one for themselves and one for their mother.

Considering all of the wonderful things that mothers do, JVC is encouraging consumers to show their mothers just how much they appreciate them, face to face, regardless of their distance apart. Between now and May 7th, consumers can enter the “Here’s Looking at Me, Mom” JVC Everio Mother’s Day Video Contest by logging on to www.videocontest.jvc.com, uploading a brief video greeting to the site, and e-mailing a link to mom.

Users will rate submissions and a panel of qualified judges will select the winners based on entertainment, creativity and originality. In addition to the Grand Prize winner, judges will award five First Prizes ($75 gift certificate for flowers and a set of JVC Gumy Ear Bud Headphones) and 10 Second Prizes (JVC Gumy Ear Bud Headphones). “We are excited to offer consumers a chance to win a prize for their mothers, while getting something for themselves and having fun at the same time,” said Karl Bearnarth, senior vice president, marketing, JVC Company of America. "This is a viral promotion that we feel will give us an opportunity to connect with a young audience and with women, two growing markets for camcorders.”

JVC will announce the prize winners on May 12, 2008. The 2008 JVC GZ-MG330 30-GB Hard Disk Camcorder features a new, super-slim design that’s some 20 percent smaller than last year’s entry-level model. Also new is a touch-sensitive scroll bar that simplifies operation. It is available in three colors, and the winners can choose which they’d prefer – Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue or Diamond Silver. The JVC HA-F130 Gumy in-ear headphones, featuring a soft rubber body that inspired the “Gumy” nickname, have been redesigned for even greater comfort and are now available in a total of eight colors.
