Stay Sharp with New Brain Exercising Calculators
July 27, 2006--Sharp Electronics introduces two new fun and affordable calculators, designed to keep both children's and adult's minds active and razor-sharp. The EL-S50B Quiz Calculator helps children improve basic arithmetic skills with built-in mathematic flash card functionality, and the EL-T100B Brain Exerciser keeps adult minds active with a simple but challenging math drill that's proven to enhance brain activity.*
"Sharp's Quiz Calculator and Brain Exerciser, which expand our broad line of calculators and electronic dictionaries, can help keep minds alert with quick and easy problems in just five minutes a day - it's the fun way to exercise!" said Dan Wynne, Senior Director and Group Leader, Sharp Commercial Markets and Sales & Solutions Group. "The Quiz Calculator makes learning entertaining for children, while adults can keep their brains active with the Brain Exerciser."
Quiz Calculator
Kids can set the trend this school year with Sharp's new Quiz Calculator, model EL-S50B, designed with a new cool blue casing that stands out. The EL-S50B helps elementary school students learn mathematics with an easy-to-use flash card function. The built-in drill function includes standard arithmetic operations which can be selected randomly or set by the user, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division questions. Children can choose to answer sets of 25, 50 and 100 questions, moving to the next question after the child answers correctly or asks the Quiz Calculator to provide the answer. When the questions are finished, the child receives a score based on the total number of correct answers. When it's time to hit the books, the lightweight 2.9 ounce calculator also offers multiplication tables and a built-in pi calculation to help kids go to the head of the class. A 10-digit, large character slanted display makes it easy for children to read the screen.
Brain Exerciser
Exercise is the key to good health, both for body and mind and with Sharp's Brain Exerciser, model EL-T100B, there's finally a way to make mental exercise enjoyable. Based on the premise that cognitive exercise can improve blood flow to the brain, Sharp's Brain Exerciser turns simple math problems into a five-minute brain-training exercise with a built-in drill function that challenges the mind with simple math equations, in sets of 25, 50 and 100 questions. When the questions have all been answered, the user is given a score based upon speed and accuracy of responses. To add a competitive kick, the top three scores are stored in the calculator's memory. Whether competing against their own best scores or against their friends in the office, users won't be able to put the Brain Exerciser down. For everyday necessities, the 4.5 ounce Brain Exerciser also provides standard calculator functions and a TAX key for easy tax calculations.
