New, Durable, No-Sew, No-Iron Labels for Clothes
February 2007 – Mabel’s Labels, a Canadian company that makes fun and durable labels for the stuff kids lose, introduces Tag-Mates™, the iron-free alternative for labeling clothes.
Tag-Mates are designed to stick to clothing care tags and withstand countless runs through the washer and dryer. The new labels are tiny, measuring just 7/8” x 1/2”, yet they still contain a personalized icon and a name with up to 20 characters. The cost is $18 USD for a pack of 75 labels, and all labels are white with purple writing.
Mabel’s Labels developed the new line of labels in response to customers’ reactions to the company’s original Iron-On Labels. “Our customers were telling us they didn’t iron!” says Tricia Mumby, one of Mabel’s founders.
Beyond making it easier to identify belongings, the new labels are extremely easy-to-use and require no up-keep. “Simply stick the label on the care tag,” says Mumby. The Tag-Mates are also perfect for labeling children’s favorite stuffed animals, coats, or blankets.
Tag-Mates are the most recent extension of Mabel’s already-established collection of labels. The company’s most popular products are its original Sticky Labels and Skinny-Minis™, which come in fun colors and are microwave- and dishwasher-safe, as well as UV resistant and kid-durable. Customers also love Mabel’s Shoe Labels, Bag Tags, Allergy Labels, as well as Household Labels, effective tools for keeping things organized.
