Westinghouse Digital Adds 22-Inch Monitor to Widescreen Line
June 22, 2006– Westinghouse Digital Electronics today announced its new HD- Grade™ 22-inch multifunctional widescreen flat panel monitor, model LCM-22w2, joining the company’s growing line of widescreen desktop monitors, which includes market-leading 17 - and 19 -inch wide models.
This sleek, lightweight, multifunctional monitor connects to a variety of video sources including desktop and notebook computers, satellite, HDTV and cable receivers for watching television, DVD players, camcorders and game consoles, and features built-in speakers that deliver superb sound for a complete entertainment experience. The ultra-fast 5ms response time is ideal for playing computer games and viewing action movies and sports.
“We have leveraged our success with LCD TVs and wide aspect ratio monitors to offer a display that features both capabilities,” said Rey Roque, Vice President of Marketing at Westinghouse Digital Electronics. “A price point under $500 is very competitive for a widescreen monitor that functions as a television or computer monitor and we feel 22-inches is an optimal size for either activity.”
The LCM-22w2 features a stylish black chassis with detachable stand for wall mounting and delivers a bright, clear display optimized for Wide Super XGA (WSXGA), or 1680x1050 resolution. Widescreen notebook users who prefer a larger monitor can plug their computer into the LCM-22w2, without the need to switch formats between laptop and desktop applications or change the screen resolution.
The LCM-22w2 features an extra wide viewing angle for optimum visibility while looking at the display from the side, top or bottom. Its wide 16:10 aspect ratio is ideal for business applications including large spreadsheets, video editing, publication and graphic design. Consumers can use the wide screen to leave office tool bars open on the side while working on other documents, and wide spreadsheets can be viewed without scrolling side to side.
In addition to computer business applications, this display is ideal for digital entertainment such as viewing watching TV and DVD movies, playing HD-video games, and surfing the Internet.
Featuring plug-and-play capability, the monitor automatically identifies the best display resolution when it is plugged into a PC, eliminating the complicated and time-consuming installation process.
