Toshiba’s Premier Gaming Notebook Line Now Features Windows Vista
Feb. 28, 2007 – Toshiba Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., just announced three new additions to its premier gaming line with the Satellite P100-ST9752, Satellite P100-ST9762 and Satellite P100-ST9772 all featuring Windows Vista Ultimate.
Windows Vista Ultimate provides gamers with the advance features and tools necessary to experience stunning graphics and superior game-play on a notebook, such as Windows Aero for advance animations and visual feedback for precision and realism enabling vibrant reflections and translucent glass. In addition, Windows Vista Ultimate also features a new Game Explorer in the Start menu that displays thumbnails of your favorite games in addition to background information, such as when last played, genre and ratings, as well as issuing alerts when updates and patches are available.
The Satellite P100 line features a 17-inch diagonal widescreen display in a 7.1-pound(1), 1.41-inch slim notebook chassis that features the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics(2) card for displaying the latest games and multimedia programs in vivid realism and clarity. The Satellite P100 series also sports a DVI-D output port to allow gamers to enhance their gaming experience by connecting to a larger HD display.

Featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the Satellite P100 notebooks have the processing power to handle multiple tasks in less time, while consuming less energy and reducing fan noise and heat, allowing for extended gaming sessions with crisp video quality.
The Satellite P100 series features Toshiba’s signature eye-catching Onyx Blue Metallic LCD lid and are available solely through ToshibaDirect (www.toshibadirect.com) with a starting price point of $1,999(3).
Other highlights of the three new Satellite P100 models include:
- a DVD-SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes all 11 formats
- 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads
- built-in harman/kardon stereo speakers for a rich audio experience
- 17-inch diagonal display featuring TruBrite technology for a crisp, clear display
- Dual Mode touch pad that can provide one-tap short cuts to launch email, an Internet browser and other selected programs
- Bluetooth v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices such as wireless gaming controls and other accessories
The new Satellite P100 notebooks come with a standard one-year limited warranty(4). This coverage includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may use any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service turnaround. Customers can also choose to upgrade the notebook’s service plans, including up to four years of extended service plans. All new Toshiba Satellite notebooks are RoHS-compatible(5), restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances.
