Toshiba Announces Latest Satellite M105 Notebooks for On-the-Go Productivity and EntertainmentJune 27, 2006 - Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its latest Satellite® M105 notebook series models, offering consumers on-the-go productivity and entertainment in a compact form factor for any budget and the first in the series with the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system. Starting at 4.98 pounds, each notebook in the Satellite M105 line-up comes standard with a 14.1-inch WXGA diagonal display with TruBrite™ technology that offers brilliant images for games or movies, high-capacity 5,400 rpm hard drives for faster access to stored files, and DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM memory for better performance of productivity applications and music, picture and video multimedia files. In addition, all new Toshiba Satellite notebooks are RoHS-compatible, restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. Value With an estimated single unit price (ESUP) under $650, the Satellite M105-S1021 value model offers an Intel® Celeron® M Processor 410 to meet everyday mobile computing needs. The product features 80GB of hard drive storage, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM memory, integrated CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive for burning and listening to CDs and watching DVDs, and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system. Mainstream The Satellite M105-S3041 mainstream model features the Intel Core™ Solo Processor T1350, reducing power consumption while boosting overall performance from graphics to wireless capabilities, and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system. The notebook includes an 80GB hard drive, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM memory, integrated DVD SuperMulti Drive, 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads, and Express Media Player, allowing users to instantly access DVDs or CDs with the push of a button without having to boot the operating system. The ESUP for the Satellite M105-S3041 is under $800. Multimedia The Satellite M105-S3064 multimedia model offers the Intel Core Duo Processor T2300E and Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition for enhanced multimedia performance and management. The notebook incorporates 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM memory, 120GB hard drive and integrated DVD SuperMulti Drive. Also included are a 5-in-1 bridge media adapter, Express Media Player, built-in harman/kardon® stereo speakers for an optimum audio experience, and fingerprint reader for secure access management. The ESUP for the Satellite M105-S3064 is $1,199.99 AVAILABILITY: The Satellite M105 notebooks will be available from major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide in July.
