SingShot Lets Consumers Sing Their Hearts Out
July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- SingShot Media today announced the beta launch of SingShot, a new, web-based service that gives consumers an easy way to listen to, rate and record unique karaoke-style musical performances and share them with the world. The service, which was created by core members of the team behind the award-winning Rhapsody online music service, is available now via www.singshot.com.
SingShot is a legal service designed for anyone who likes to sing and express themselves through music -- from aspiring singers and karaoke fans to shy shower singers -- as well as for people interested in checking out other people's singing and rating the best singers and recordings. The service taps consumer interest in American Idol-style competition and in online services that empower people to express themselves and share their talents with a worldwide audience.
With SingShot, members can choose from thousands of famous songs, record their own personal versions to backing music and lyrics from the service, and share them with friends, family and the rest of the web. SingShot members can also listen to, rate and comment on recordings by other members. SingShot works on both PC (Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) and Mac (Safari), and is exceptionally easy to use, requiring only a computer and broadband connection to use the service, and a microphone if you want to record songs.
"SingShot provides a superior way for singers of any age and any level of talent to easily express themselves and share their creations with the world," said Ranah Edelin, CEO and co-founder of SingShot Media. "We're excited to let music fans begin playing around with SingShot, and hope it's music to their ears."
SingShot includes a number of features that make it easy for members to share recordings and integrate the SingShot experience into the way they live and play on the web. SingShot users can add embedded SingShot media players into their profiles on blogs, MySpace, and other social media sites; share musical recordings with friends via email; and add keyword tags to their recordings. The service also offers intuitive search features that make it easy to find music to record and find communities of people with similar musical interests.
Anyone using SingShot can listen to recordings by other members and rate and comment on the best singers and recordings for free. People who want to record their own performances can set up an account and try SingShot free for 2 weeks, after which members can subscribe to the service and receive unlimited use of the service for a flat monthly fee. SingShot offers several payment options, with savings of up to 50% for consumers who sign up for quarterly or annual subscription plans. Payment options include a $9.95 monthly plan, a $7.95-per-month quarterly plan, and a $4.95-per-month annual billing plan.
