New HP Notebooks Merge High-end Home Theater and Cutting-edge Mobile PerformanceMay 9, 2007 – HP today announced the newest addition to the consumer notebook family, the HP Pavilion HDX Series Entertainment Notebook PC “the Dragon” featuring a big 20.1-inch diagonal screen and innovative design along with six new consumer notebooks. For users seeking a portable home theater experience, the HDX delivers rich multimedia performance on a brilliant 20.1-inch diagonal Ultra BrightView widescreen display and Altec Lansing audio supported by four integrated speakers and a subwoofer. The HDX design features a dual hinge that allows consumers the flexibility to move or tilt the screen for optimal viewing plus a dockable full-function HDX Media Center Remote Control. It joins the HP Pavilion dv2000, HP Pavilion dv6000, HP Pavilion dv9000, Compaq Presario V3000 and Compaq Presario V6000 to expand the company’s comprehensive portfolio of consumer notebook offerings. An HD-DVD ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer drive is optional for playback of HD DVDs, a built-in TV tuner capable of capturing over-the-air HD content, and HDMI output eliminates the need for a separate HD DVD player. HP’s Dockable Media Center Remote stores conveniently in the keyboard deck for easy multimedia controls. Four stereo speakers and an integrated HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer provide excellent audio performance, while wireless connectivity and an integrated, adjustable webcam enable users to chat live on the Web with friends and family. Compaq’s new logo and look
As part of an update to the Compaq brand, HP unveiled a new Compaq logo. The logo looks like a CQ combined, making for a sleek, bold statement. The new Compaq Presario notebooks are the first products to include the newly designed logo.

The HP Pavilion notebooks, with the exception of the HP Pavilion HDX, are planned to be available starting May 9, 2007 direct from HP via www.hpshopping.com, by calling +1 888 999 4747 or at retail outlets starting in the United States. The new Compaq Presario notebooks are planned to be available in select Asian countries. The V6000 will be available in Europe as well.
