Brother Unveils New Business Color Laser PrintersMarch 20, 2007. Brother International Corporation today continued to solidify its position as a leader in providing laser printing solutions to the home office, small office and corporate home office markets with the introduction of its new HL-4000 Series Color Laser Printers. At print speeds of up to 21ppm in both color and monochrome and with a starting price of $399, these printers set a new standard for performance, print quality and consumer value. The series includes the network ready HL-4040CN ($399) and the HL-4070CDW ($499) which includes built-in Ethernet and wireless connectivity as well as built-in automatic duplexing. The new printers will first be available beginning in April 2007 (HL-4040CN) and June 2007 (HL 4070CDW). Today’s announcement builds on Brother’s legacy of making desired levels of printing functionality available and affordable to the SOHO marketplace. Starting with its market leading monochrome multi-function units and entry level laser printers over 10 years ago, Brother continues to meet the evolutionary output needs of small to medium sized businesses by including as standard a number of enhanced features at new, affordable price points. For years this market has been looking for a viable, everyday color printer. While many initially chose color ink jet printers for occasional color printing, they are now discovering the ability of color laser printers to satisfy the needs of those who need to print higher volumes of color documents quickly and affordably on a daily basis. The Brother HL-4000 series ideally addresses both the performance and value these users have been searching for. “Being a major player in the monochrome laser printing market, and given the current market trends, our color laser line expansion is appropriately timed to serve the expanding color laser printing market,” said Jeff Sandler, Brother Director of Marketing for Printers. “These new Brother developed single pass color laser printers clearly demonstrate our level of engineering expertise and market commitment.” The NPD Group, a leading market research company, echo's the impact of Brother's new product announcement. Each printer has built-in Ethernet network connectivity standard, in addition to their Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. Both printers also offer PCL6 emulation, as well as a USB Direct Interface that allows compatibility with both PictBridge and USB Flash Memory Drives. HL-4040CN
