Capture Your Own Summer Wonders with New RCA Simple Camcorder
June 15, 2006 - With schools sending students home for the summer and vacations already underway, consumers have a simple new option for recording spur-of-the-moment memories from favorite destinations - RCA's new EZ101 Small Wonder digital camcorder, which is now available at retail stores throughout the U.S. The RCA Small Wonder makes it easy to shoot, share, and save favorite summer moments and is available for less than $130 (suggested retail price). Consumers can learn more about the RCA Small Wonder at www.mysmallwonder.com. Designed to be carried along on any trip and always at hand, the RCA Small Wonder eliminates many of the complaints consumers have about conventional camcorders. There are no tapes or discs to buy with the camcorder's built-in memory, and standard AA batteries mean no batteries to charge with this convenient home video product.
"The RCA Small Wonder is the perfect solution for the entire family," remarked Dan Collishaw, Chief Operating Officer of Thomson's Americas Audio/Video and Accessory businesses. "For many, simplicity is the best option when it comes to home video, and we are convinced that there is a tremendous market for the RCA Small Wonder digital camcorder."
Recording memories with the RCA Small Wonder is as easy as pointing the camera on the subject and pushing the red button. The EZ101 includes up to 30 minutes of built-in recording memory, making it very easy to capture scenes without fumbling for tapes or discs. Sharing Small Wonder videos is easy, too. The RCA Small Wonder connects directly to a TV set for immediate viewing. It also plugs into a PC with a built-in USB connector (no need for installing software on a separate CD) for compressing, archiving, and e-mailing favorite videos to friends.
The RCA Small Wonder was developed using the Pure Digital® Video Platform from Pure Digital Technologies. Pure Digital is a pioneer in creating simple and affordable digital imaging solutions for mass-market consumers. The Pure Digital® Video Platform provides innovative on-camera software for instant video saving and sharing with a PC, and enables the camcorder to be taken to any of the 8,000 Pure Digital retail partner locations- including any CVS/Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Ritz or Wolf Camera - for 1-hour DVD processing. Recorded video is archived as clips that consumers can play back on the RCA Small Wonder's 1.5-inch LCD screen, and unwanted clips can be deleted with the touch of a button. The 30 frames per second video files are created as MPEG4 compressed Audio Video Interface files, a format that can also be easily manipulated.
The RCA Small Wonder EZ101 ships with a full accessory kit including a soft velvet carrying bag, convenient wrist strap, two AA batteries, and a TV/AV output cable to allow easy connection to a television.
