SIRIUS Satellite Radio to Introduce Home System with Wireless Control
August 2006 – SIRIUS Satellite Radio just announced the introduction of its innovative new home system, enabling SIRIUS subscribers to control their entertainment experience from up to 150 feet away from their stereo system. The SIRIUS Conductor system, which includes a SIRIUS home radio and controller, along with other accessories, is expected to be available at retail in November for a MSRP of $149.99.
The SIRIUS Conductor’s tuner connects to subscribers’ existing home stereo system and communicates wirelessly with the Conductor’s controller. The controller features an easy-to-read display for SIRIUS programming information including artist name, song title, channel name, channel number, category and preset number. The controller lets users preset up to 30 of their favorite channels and search by programming category. It also contains parental controls and channel lock, and will control up to 6 additional audio and video components.
The SIRIUS Conductor supports up to two audio zones using the included radio plus an accessory SiriusConnect™ Home Kit, enabling listeners to play two different channels in different rooms at the same time. Separate subscriptions for this feature are required.
“We are excited to expand our home audio product offerings with the addition of the SIRIUS Conductor,” said Sean Gibbons, SIRIUS Vice President of Consumer Electronics Product Management. “With its easy-to-use design and versatility, this system will greatly enhance our subscribers’ at home listening experience.”
SIRIUS Conductor includes a radio/transceiver, RF/IR controller with integrated display, IR blaster, weatherproof indoor/outdoor antenna and AC adapter. Click on www.sirius.com to listen to SIRIUS live, or to purchase a SIRIUS radio and subscription.
