Sirius Launches All-Sports Channel

Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio, unveiled today a new all-sports channel, SIRIUS Sports Central channel 123, which features a new and improved lineup showcasing several new exclusive talk programs, Sporting News Radio programming and live game broadcasts.

The new channel -- which provides SIRIUS listeners with a forum to discuss a variety of professional and college sports -- is the all-sports complement to other dedicated sports channels on SIRIUS -- SIRIUS NFL Radio channel 124, SIRIUS NASCAR Radio channel 128 and NBA Radio on SIRIUS channel 127.

The Tony Bruno Show, hosted by the award-winning Bruno, one of sports radio's most respected personalities, airs weekdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm ET on SIRIUS Sports Central channel 123. Other Sporting News radio programs including The Arnie Spanier Show (weekdays, 7:00 - 10:00 pm ET), Todd Wright Tonight (weekdays, 10:00 pm - 2:00 am ET) and The David Stein Show (weekdays, 2:00 - 6:00 am ET) also air on SIRIUS.

SIRIUS has also added several new exclusive sports talk shows to its weekday lineup on SIRIUS Sports Central including:

  • SIRIUS Fight Club, hosted by Randy Gordon, former editor-in-chief of The Ring magazine and former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission, airs Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET. Gordon covers boxing and Mixed Martial Arts on a show that provides an in-depth look at the sweet science and one of the world's fastest-rising sports.
  • The SIRIUS College Football Coaches Show, hosted by Jack Arute and former Auburn Tigers head coach Terry Bowden, airs every Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET. Arute and Bowden interview coaches and players from around the country and preview the weekend's best college match-ups.
  • Every Thursday from 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET, Scott Lancaster, author of the book "Fair Play: Making Organized Sports a Great Experience for Your Kids," hosts the call-in show SIRIUS Presents the ABCs of Sports. Lancaster takes calls from young competitors, parents and coaches, and discusses ideas for making youth sports more enjoyable for both kids and adults.
  • On Fridays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET, The Fantoo Girls, Carol Doroba and Robin McConaughey, provide a refreshingly unscientific perspective on the world of sports. Each week Carol and Robin focus on entertaining and educating an audience that likes to talk sports without cluttering up the conversation with detailed Xs and Os and exhaustive stats.

The new programming joins existing exclusive programming on SIRIUS Sports Central that includes: The Mike & Murray Show, the all-sports talk show hosted by Mike Yam and Bruce Murray (weekdays, 3:00 - 6:00 pm ET); Rivals Radio, the college sports talk show hosted by Bobby Burton and Bill King (weekdays, 6:00 - 9:00 am ET); and Steiner Sports on SIRIUS, the sports business talk show hosted by marketing and collectibles expert Brandon Steiner with Andrew Bogusch (Mondays, 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET).

SIRIUS also airs weekend programming from Sporting News Radio including: Golf World On Air with Mark Wood (Saturdays, 7:00 - 8:00 am ET); Sports Saturday (Saturdays, 1:00 - 7:00 pm ET) and Sports Sunday (Sundays, 1:00 - 7:00 pm ET) hosted by Bob Berger and Bob Stelton; and the motorsports talk show SNR's Inside Track (Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:00 am ET). All shows air on SIRIUS Sports Central channel 123.

Every Thursday night throughout the NFL season, SIRIUS Sports Central will carry The Troy Aikman Show, hosted by the three-time Super Bowl Champion and Hall of Fame quarterback (7:00 pm - 8:00 pm ET).
