Panasonic Offers Free iTunes with Purchase of iPod-Ready Car Audio Products

July 2006-- Panasonic today announced a promotion making it easier than ever for music lovers to take their music on the road. From August through December 2006, consumers get a $15 or $25 iTunes gift card for music downloads simply by purchasing a Panasonic iPod ready car CD receiver. The promotion applies to 15 different Panasonic models currently available at retail.

To support this five month promotion, Panasonic is launching an innovative campaign using website, podcasts and drive time radio advertising. The extensive on-line campaign, appearing on 3,500 unique websites, along with sponsored sports news podcasts, is designed to strategically reach iPod users and prospective customers and channel them to a dealer locator or a direct purchase site. The radio campaign sponsors Shadow Traffic in 8 key markets and features a tie-in with a local retailer.

"This campaign will boost Panasonic's growing following to another level," declares Rob Lopez, director of Panasonic's Mobile Electronics Group. "Panasonic car audio products offer advanced features to optimize enjoyment of one's personal music collection. We want to reward our customers for their loyalty by giving them a chance to add to their iTunes collection."

Panasonic's new iPod-ready car CD receivers allow music saved on one's iPod to operate through the car audio system, with just a single direct connect cable and no hide-away box. The Panasonic cable (CA-DC300U) will work with any iPod with a Dock connector and is available as an optional accessory with an SRP of $49.95. The interface automatically charges the iPod when the radio is on and allows users to operate their iPod through the controls on the head unit. The name of the track and artist appear on the radio display, and the music is heard through the car audio speakers.

The Panasonic CD head units boast attractive, easy-to-read, eye- catching LCD displays for safe and simple system monitoring and operation. Some models display Panasonic's signature blue color, high-definition 3DDM (3D Dot Matrix Display) graphics on the LCD screen, while others feature a full-color, customizable 4096 color OEL display, which is able to project full-motion graphics. Making the displays even more fun, all of these depictions move and pulse to the beat of the music.

The Panasonic models eligible for a $25 iTunes gift card include: CQ-C7103U, CQ-C7203U, CQ-C7303U, CQ-C7403U, CQ-C7413U, CQ-C8303U, CQ-C8403U, CQ-C8413U and CQ-C8803U. A $15 iTunes gift card is offered with purchase of these Panasonic models: CQ-C3303U, CQ- C3333U, CQ-C3403U, CQ-C3433U, CQ-C5303U and CQ-C5403U.
