Gefen Announces its Gefen TV Line for Prosumers and HD Savvy Consumers
January 25, 2008 – In response to market demands and in an effort to make professional quality solutions more accessible to home users, Gefen is manufacturing a new line of add-on HDTV solutions called Gefen TV. This line is based on Gefen’s professional series solutions, but packaged differently. Their streamlined, user-friendly enclosures allow for simple, plug and play connections among today’s selection of HDTV equipment.
“This way, consumers won’t have to rely on an in-depth knowledge of audio/video systems to create a high quality and still impressive home theater set up,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO. “The solutions are also priced more competitively to appeal to a wider audience beyond the A/V professionals who demand the finest quality for their systems.”
One of the first Gefen TV solutions is currently shipping: a Gefen TV Switcher. It enables you to connect up to four different HDTV sources to one display or projector using HDMI connectors, giving direct access to all four sources at the press of a button. If that’s too much trouble, the unit offers automatic switching, a feature that recognizes a recently powered device and switches to it automatically.
The Gefen TV Switcher is HDMI v1.3 compliant so it will work with some of the most cutting-edge HDTV devices including high definition gaming systems and disc players. HDCP-compliant audio and video is delivered in all high definition resolutions up to 1080p for the most vivid imagery available in high definition today.
Additional Gefen TV solutions are currently in development, which the company expects to release throughout the year. Two previously announced solutions, the SD and HD Personal Video Recorders, are also being marketing under the Gefen TV brand.
Solutions may be purchased direct or through an authorized Gefen reseller, located throughout most major continents and listed here: www.gefen.com/dealers/worldmap.jsp
