Altec Lansing Introduces High-End Speaker System for Microsoft Zune

November 2006 -- Today Altec Lansing announced its newest partnership with Microsoft Corporation. The two companies joined forces to offer proud owners of the new Microsoft Zune Digital Media Player a chance to listen to their tunes out loud. The result? The Altec Lansing M604, the premiere speaker accessory for the Zune player. And, like its M602 counterpart that delivers an impressive 60 watts total RMS for powerful room-filling sound, the M604 was engineered to surpass the top performers in the MP3 speaker category.

Altec Lansing pioneered speaker systems for MP3 players with the introduction of its first inMotion system in 2004. And, with Microsoft being a huge player in the digital entertainment industry, this partnership was a natural next step for both companies.

“We’re proud to be associated with Microsoft,” said Robert Heiblim, Senior VP Sales and Marketing, Altec Lansing. “Our relationship dates back some years from when we introduced the USB audio streaming solutions, and we are pleased once again to partner with Microsoft to offer the first docking and charging solution for the Zune player.”

The M604 contains custom-designed drivers and patented bass-enhancement technology that rocks even the most classical songs. Designed to deliver crisp, clear highs and room-thumping lows at loud volumes, the M604 creates perfect harmony in every home. This sleek, elegant-looking system perfectly complements the Zune player’s color palate. The size of a laptop, the M604 can be easily carried from room-to-room and placed on an end table, bookshelf, countertop or desktop. Or, the M604 can be mounted on a wall for versatility of placement and superb audio dispersement (the wall mount kit is available for free on the Altec Lansing web site.) At a MSRP of $199.95, the M604 is ideal for the music lover that wants a traditional home stereo audio experience at a competitive price.

The M604 is feature-packed, such as composite video output that enables you to watch videos on TV. A top-located control panel gives easy fingertip adjustment of the speaker’s operations, including treble, bass, volume and power. Green LED indicator lights, subtly located behind the grille, provide an instant visual of master volume, treble and bass levels. The lights fade after adjustments are made. For ultimate convenience, untuck the wireless remote from its caddy and you have across-the-room command of the M604, as well as most of the Zune functions, including play/pause and back/forward.
