New Dual Tuner TiVo

TiVo Series2 DVRWhen digital video recorders were first released, consumers found it hard to believe that live TV could be paused and rewound. Not to mention the convenience of never having to struggle with programming a VCR again! But now, with the constant need for newer and newer technology, recording one show at a time just isn’t enough. Enter TiVo’s Series2 DT DVR.

USB and Ethernet ports come standard, making the instillation of the Series2 DT DVR a snap. The standalone dual tuner will come in an 80-hour model, ready to record two shows at once, even if they’re on in the same time slot. Other TiVo features ready for use on the Series2 DT DVR include TiVoToGo, which allows TiVo users to transfer recorded shows to their laptop or certain portable players to take shows on the go. Viewers can also select and edit shows to record from any internet connection. In addition, Broadband users can manage their Yahoo! photos and slideshows from TiVo, as well as check Yahoo’s weather and traffic alerts. Fandango can be used to order movie tickets and view show times, Live365 can be accessed for great music, and podcasts are also available for Broadband users.

Future updates compatible with the Series2 DT DVR include programming controls from select Verizon Wireless phones, and TiVo KidZone, to allow parents to securely control what their kids are watching. The TiVo Series2 DT DVR will be sold for $99.99 after rebates. TiVo subscriptions are sold separately. The Series2 DT DVR will be available May 1 at Circuit City, Amazon.com, Best Buy, and select other retailers. For subscription information, visit www.tivo.com.
