JVC Desktop Home Theatre

JVC EX-A10 Home theatre systems are wonderful for getting into the music, the moment, or the movie, but they do have their drawbacks. Oftentimes, home theatre systems are created to be enjoyed in a main room, such as an entertainment, family, or living room—the centerpiece of the house. Thus, the size can be overwhelming, and inappropriate for other rooms in the house. But now, JVC is offering a home theatre system that offers all the bang, but takes up none of the room.

The JVC EX-A10 is not much larger than a standard laptop computer. That’s pretty impressive, considering the EX-A10 is made up of two components—the speakers and a DVD player. Add your own TV, and the setup is complete. The EX-A10 showcases its unique wood-cone speakers. Birch wood is soaked in sake—the Japanese rice wine—which makes it pliable and able to fit into speaker casings. Before the sake was tried, wood cone speakers were impractical and often split. The birch wood gives it a warm, rich acoustic sound. The birch wood speaker cones are topped by removable black speaker grills.

The system, housed in a stylish cherry wood case, plays both DVD Audio and DVD Video discs. Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound is featured. Built in is an AM/FM radio and a clock timer that can be set to wake you up with either the radio or a CD. Compatible devices can also be attached through its analog and optical audio inputs.
