New Celltop from Alltel Wireless

In today’s day and age we find ourselves overloaded with information, and yet we’ve become information junkies: we want it and we want it NOW. Personally, I need immediate access to e-mail and voice mail, the time, stock quotes, and weather. My cell phone provides the information of the first three; for the stock quotes and the five-day forecast I have to login to my phone’s browser, or text Google for the information.

Alltel to the rescue. The forward-thinking company has seen the light and will forever change the way we receive information on our cellphones. It’s called Celltop; go to www.mycelltop.com and check this out, because you’ll be impressed. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and drag the slider to set your background color. You can do this on the Celltop too; it’s a nice touch of personalization for your cell phone.

Our computers have Widgets (Apple) and Gadgets (Vista on PCs) that pop up on our desktops. Celltop offers the same thing, just on your cell phone.

My first question to the Alltel folks was:  will they provide Celltop as an OEM product? Will they license this to other carriers? Nope, but with their service, coverage and customer service, you may just find that Celltop is worth the change if you are not already with Alltel.

Now the world is one step closer to the perfect cell phone. Hopefully we will see a time where we can mash up all of the great features we enjoy so much and put them inside one cell phone. The Celltop will definitely be an option on my imaginary “dream” cell phone.

I have had the Alltell Celltop featured on the Samsung u520 for a month now, and I have to say that I am now looking at changing my service because of this one feature.
