LG's LW980S Nano LED CINEMA 3D TV Uses Passive 3D Glasses
On Tuesday LG took the wraps off its next generation CINEMA 3D TV, the LW980S. Packed with some of the company's most advanced technologies to date, the TV features NANO Full LED lighting, Smart TV functions, Cinema 3D, and uses passive 3D glasses rather than bulky (and more expensive) active shutter glasses.
Worried about the lack of 3D TV programming? Don't. The LW980S deals with this issue with a proprietary 2D to 3D conversion technology that provides a supply of shows and movies in 3D. In addition, it's the first 3D display to receive "Flicker-Free" certification, meaning you won't have to worry about the dizziness or disorientation you might experience while watching other 3D TVs.
The 3D TV touts a 400Hz refresh rate and has access to 3D Video-on-Demand through LG Apps. Its also has a Smart Share feature that makes it easy to share content between your TV, mobile phone and other digital devices.
LG's LW980S CINEMA 3D TV will be shown for the first time at the IFA Berlin trade show which takes place from September 2-7 in Germany. Hopefully at that time more information – like pricing and model sizes – will be released.
