Best Buy Starts Pre-Sale of HTC Status 'Facebook' Phone, in Stores July 17 for $49

Best Buy on Monday announced the pre-sale of the HTC Status from AT&T, the first smartphone to feature a dedicated Facebook share button. It arrives at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores and online at BestBuy.com/Mobile on July 17 for $49.99 with new two-year activation.

The 4G HTC Status runs Android 2.3 and also includes a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, and features a both a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard. In addition to its Facebook share button, it has select Facebook widgets such as Facebook chat.

Best Buy will have an exclusive mauve color of the smartphone. You can pre-order yours today at www.BestBuy.com/mobile In addition to mauve, HTC Status is also available in white/silver.
