Best Buy Launches Two New Mobile Broadband Devices
Best Buy just launched two new mobile broadband devices, the 3G MiFi Mobile Hotspot (MiFi RF-MFH2) and USB Broadband Device (RF-BCD2) for Best Buy Connect subscribers.
The new Best Buy Connect devices are manufactured by Novatel Wireless and are Rocketfish branded (Best Buy's private label). The 3G MiFi Mobile Hotspot provides high speed internet access on-the-go for up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices such as PCs, cameras, digital media players, tablets and gaming consoles. The 3G MiFi Mobile Hotspot offers up to four hours of use on a single charge and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It will sell for $119.99.
The USB Broadband Device (RF-BCD2) is an EV-DO Rev A modem. The device's integrated microSD slot holds up to 32 GB of files, photos or videos on a hot-swappable, removable microSD storage card. At just over two inches long and weighing less than an ounce, the device is designed to work with any laptop, tablet PC or desktop running Windows or Mac operating systems and equipped with a USB port. It has an MSRP of $79.99.
Best Buy Connect will offer a range of no-contract, prepaid 3G plans for both of the devices, starting at $10.
The new Best Buy Connect Rocketfish mobile broadband devices will be available at Best Buy's CowBoom online outlet store and at Best Buy Express kiosks located in at major airports starting June 27.
