Onkyo Outs New HT-RC Receiver Models

Last week we told you about a new stereo network receiver and CD player from Onkyo, and this week Onkyo announced two new models in its HT-RC family of home theater receivers. The HT-RC370 and HT-RC360 replace the HT-RC270 and HT-RC260, and are among the first AV receivers to include the new Marvell Qdeo 4K video upscaling processor.

These two 7.2-channel network-capable receivers support Internet streaming from Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, SiriusXM Internet Radio, Slacker, Mediafly and vTuner and are compatible with Windows 7 and DLNA. Both receivers have a front-panel USB port for connecting your iPod/iPhone (or other USB devices). The USB port supports album art from your iPod or iPhone as well.

The receivers have enough HDMI inputs for all of your cable TV, satellite, and disk player sources, including 3D. Both the HT-RC370 and HT-RC360 now also include connections for Ethernet, Onkyo's U-Port, and traditional A/V sources. The HDMI interface supports lossless HD surround sound via Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs.

The HT-RC370 is THX Select2 Plus certified, and has been upgraded with Audyssey MultEQ XT, while the HT-RC360 uses Audyssey 2EQ room correction and includes Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume to correct loudness issues. Both models also feature the new Marvell Qdeo video-processing chip, which can upscale video to 1080p - and in the future, to as much as 4K of horizontal resolution.

The receivers include Onkyo's proprietary WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) amplifiers, and the HT-RC370 also touts Onkyo's three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry. Burr-Brown 192kHz/24-bit DACs are also provided for all channels on both.
