 SIM2 Crystal black

SIM2 is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and what better way to do that than introduce new luxury home entertainment products? New to SIM2's lineup are the Crystal 35 and 45 home entertainment projectors, along with the C3X LUMIS 3D SOLO, and C3X LUMIS 3D HC 3D projectors.

The Crystal 35 and Crystal 45 Full HD DLP high-end home entertainment projectors sport an all-new projector design featuring bold, straight edges with a contemporary appearance, thanks to renowned industrial designer Giorgio Revoldini.

On the technical side, the Crystal line features a Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) chipset and has a generous lens throw ratio of 1.62~2.43:1. In addition, standard definition sources are reproduced at 1080p resolution, thanks to the 10-bit video processing electronics.

The Crystal line is compatible with all video standards (including 1080p@24fps) and offers a wide choice of both analog and digital source inputs, including HDCP compliant HDMI.

Features:

  • DarkChip DLP chipset
  • Full HD (1080p)
  • 2,000 lumens (2,600 lumens CRYSTAL 45)
  • 30,000:1 contrast ratio (50,000:1 CRYSTAL 45)
  • BrilliantColor
  • DynamicBlack
  • 10-bit video processing
  • HQV video processing (Crystal 45)
  • Philips VIDI lamp technology (Crystal 45)
  • Black or White cabinet with glass accents

Both models are available in glass surfaced white or black. The Crystal 35 has an MSRP of $6,500, with the Crystal 45 having a price tag of $8,500.

 SIM2 C3X LUMIS 3D SOLO

Next up are SIM2's new 3D projectors. The theater-grade C3X LUMIS 3D SOLO is a high brightness, three-chip, single-lens projector based on the company's C3X LUMIS (which we called the ultimate 3D projection system earlier this year.

The new LUMIS 3D SOLO is designed for use in home theaters, media rooms and family/games rooms – in both 2D and 3D. SIM2's engineers have designed the LUMIS 3D SOLO with three user modes, each optimized for movie, sports and 3D viewing:

  1. PureMovie: This mode uses DynamicBlack technology to deliver images with the highest contrast ratio and deepest black level. Recommended for movie watching in 2D.
  2. PureMotion: Fast-action sports viewing benefits from smooth motion, free from the 'smear' and 'judder' that can affect image quality.
  3. PureMotion 3D: The demands of 3D are such that careful processing must be carried out to ensure artifact-free images are created on-screen. This mode is used when the LUMIS 3D SOLO is being used to view 3D material.

A choice of three high quality glass lenses (T1, T2 & T3) is available for the LUMIS 3D SOLO, giving the projector a total throw ratio of 1.37-3.90:1.

Features:

  • 3x DarkChip4 DLP chipset
  • Full HD (1080p)
  • SIM2 Active 3D technology
  • Up to 3,000 lumens
  • Up to 35,000:1 contrast ratio (with DynamicBlack)
  • DynamicBlack
  • 10-bit video processing
  • SIM2 PureMotion3D
  • 280W lamp
  • DCI color reproduction (HC)
  • Live Colors Calibration software

The C3X LUMIS 3D SOLO comes standard with four pairs of XPAND 3D powered active glasses and has an MSRP of $50,000.

Last but not least, the C3X LUMIS 3D HC is a DCI 3D system that boasts accurate color control and is designed, among other applications, for postproduction facilities. The C3X LUMIS 3D HC is available for $55,000.
