NOOK for Android Gets Update
NOOK for Android, the free app from Barnes & Noble, just got another update adding in many features requested from users. With the update (version 2.5), users of Android smartphones and 7-inch tablets will get a new library grid view, wish list feature and download progress meter, along with even more improvements.
Always staying on top of technology, Barnes & Noble also said they have plans to release a new version of NOOK for Android this Spring that will offer enhanced graphics, grid views and more, optimized for those with larger 10-inch Honeycomb-based tablets, such as upcoming products from Motorola, Samsung, Toshiba.
In case you're a new Android user and haven't heard about NOOK for Android, here's a quick recap. NOOK for Android gives Android smartphone (and tablet) users access to Barnes & Noble's NOOK Bookstore which includes more than two million digital titles (most priced at $9.99 or less). In addition, NOOK for Android lets users share eBooks with friends using the company's LendMe technology. But not only for your Android smartphone, you can read books from your Barnes & Noble digital library on your NOOK Color, NOOK eReader devices, as well as mobile and computing devices that use free NOOK software. eBooks will automatically sync with the other devices too, so you'll never lose your place.
