Sneak Peek of LG's NANO LED HDTVs
LG gave everyone a preview of their next generation flat panel TVs this week at a CES Sneak Peek event in New York City. The new LW9500 and LW7700 FULL LED televisions tout NANO Lighting Technology, which is said to produce the brightest, clearest and smoothest picture ever seen on an LG TV. According to the press release: "An extremely thin film printed with a proprietary light dispersion pattern combined with a full array of LEDs disperses light more evenly across the screen, creating pictures that are brighter and more uniform than conventional edge-lit LED sets."
The LW9500 touts LG's TruMotion 480Hz, while the LW7700 features TruMotion 240Hz, and both boast improved localized dimming in both 2D and 3D with their Micro Pixel Control. The models also have an anti-reflection panel to reduce glare from sunlight, etc., and are ultra-slim at less than one inch in overall depth.
LG's LW9500 and LW7700 will be available at some point in 2011 with screen sizes ranging from 47- to 60-inches. The LG NANO FULL LED TVs are also undergoing THX 2D and 3D Display Certification. Additional details on the models including specs, pricing and availability will be announced at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show in January.
