Sony Reader Daily Edition in Stores Now
Sony announced today that the wireless Reader Daily Edition is now available in retail outlets and online at SonyStyle.com. The new Reader Daily Edition includes both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity and features a seven-inch screen with optical touch screen technology.
Wirelessly browse, purchase and download books and periodicals from the Reader Store with Wi-Fi and free 3G wireless access, as well as browse the web with pre-loaded, reading-based URLs, including: Google.com, Wikipedia.org, Twitter.com, Facebook.com, cnbc.com and cnet.com. There are no monthly fees for the basic wireless connectivity.
New features on the Daily Edition include personalized standby screen options, intuitive content zoom, adjustable contrast and brightness control, as well as automatic multiple page creation. A collections functionality lets you group your favorite reads by author, category or other criteria. You can also use the built-in New Oxford American Dictionary, Second Edition and Oxford Dictionary of English eDictionaries to look up words and phrases. 10 translation dictionaries in languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch are also included.
The Reader Daily Edition measures just 0.38" thin, weighs only 9.6 ounces and includes 2 GB of memory (expandable up to 32 GB). It is available in silver and retails for about $299.
