Epson Intros MovieMate 85HD and MovieMate 62

What would you say if I told you that you could have an instant, portable home cinema for less than you would normally spend on a new television? And what if I told you it could be used outdoors too? Both are true with the latest from Epson. The MovieMate 85HD and MovieMate 62 are the company's latest home entertainment projector/DVD combo solutions.

The MovieMate 85HD and MovieMate 62 both feature a 3LCD projector, built-in DVD player and Dolby Digital audio with two built-in 10W speakers. Both also include an integrated microphone jack and offer plug 'n play connectivity, including HDMI. They are compatible with iPod, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A 16:9 widescreen 60-inch image can be projected from six feet away or a 120-inch image from just 12 feet away – and no additional cables are needed for set-up.

The MovieMate 85HD touts 720p HD resolution and has a brighter energy-efficient E-TORL lamp than previous models. It projects up to 2,500 color and white light output, so you can watch movies in a lit room or even outside at dusk.

MovieMate 62 has 540p resolution, giving home theater enthusiasts a more affordable, portable home entertainment solution. It also has an energy-efficient E-TORL lamp and delivers 2,000 lumens of color and white light output for viewing content in either dark or light settings.

Both the MovieMate 62 and MovieMate 85HD are compact, have a built-in handle and a cushioned carrying case. They will be available in late September 2010. The Epson MovieMate 85HD has an MSRP of $899 and the MovieMate 62 is priced at $649.
