Turn Your iPad or iPod touch into an In-Wall Touchscreen

iPort, the company that developed the first in-wall system for the iPod, just released two new products that turn your iPad or iPod touch into in-wall touchscreens. The CM2000 Control Mount for iPad and the iPort CM100 Control Mount for iPod touch combine the device and an in-wall frame to turn them into in-wall touchscreens to display weather, news, stocks and many other popular Apps.

The CM100 can also turn your iPod touch into an in-wall Internet radio source. It easily connects to your stereo or audio/video receiver. Simply download the Internet radio apps available in the App Store and play the audio back through the connected stereo system.

Other than transforming your iPad or iPod touch into in-wall touchscreens to display the weather or news, think about the possibilities. With all of the apps available, you may be able to integrate your iPad or iPod touch into a home automation system and control your lighting, climate, and more (via control apps available from most home automation brands that link to the system over Wi-Fi).

The CM2000 and CM100 may be installed either vertically or horizontally. And, once installed into the iPort, the iPad and iPod touch stay constantly charged. Available now, the iPort CM100 has an MSRP of $250. The iPort CM2000 is available for $499.
