Canon's Photography in the Parks Photo Contest Starts Today

Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest

Canon today announced its fifth annual Photography in the Parks Photo Contest. Beginning today (May 17) until September 30, 2010, you can submit your best "Nature" image to win Canon photo gear. The Grand Prize winner will also receive a trip to a U.S. National Park of his or her choice, within the lower 48 states. The contest is divided into two divisions; the teen division, for ages 13-17 and the adult division, for ages 18 and older.

Photos should be submitted through the contest page at the Canon Digital Learning Center Web site: www.usa.canon.com/parks. To qualify, photos must be taken at a park or monument in the United States. After entering your photo in the contest, you can then forward an e-postcard of your entry to friends.

The winning photographers from each division will be announced in December 2010.

Canon also announced that from June to August, the company is offering free photography workshops in four National Parks – Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Acadia and Yellowstone. You will be able to experience various photography techniques hands-on while exploring the park. Canon is even providing camera equipment to use at no charge. EOS HD video shooting classes will also be available in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Bar Harbor, Maine.

For information and schedule of workshops, visit www.usa.canon.com/parks.
