Definitive Unveils Ultra-Thin Mythos XTR-50 On-Wall Speaker
Definitive Technology announced that the "world's thinnest" high performance on-wall home theater speaker, the Mythos XTR-50, is now available on Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com. The 1.5-inch thick XTR-50 will be available at Best Buy's Magnolia store (along with a few other retailers) in the coming weeks.
The Mythos XTR-50 was designed to be used with the many ultra-thin LCD TVs available today. Measuring 27 inches high, 6 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick, the loudspeaker is a great size for televisions measuring 46 to 55 inches.
How is it so thin? Speakers produce sound by moving air with a "diaphragm." Most manufacturers form them into a cone shape from paper, plastic or woven fibers, but Definitive developed an aluminum dome that produces sound and also houses a voice coil. An aluminum cabinet aids in the thin design as well.
The Mythos XTR-50 is now available for $699 per speaker. Visit www.definitivetech.com for more info.
