Printers are a dime a dozen, right? We all know that while you can find an inexpensive printer at every office superstore, where the cost comes in is the ink. That changes with the latest from Lexmark. Aimed at small businesses, the new Pinnacle Pro901 all-in-one printer uses a black ink cartridge that costs only $4.99. That's right…just $4.99! We're not the only ones who are impressed. Yesterday at the Fifth Annual Small Business Summit 2010, the Pinnacle Pro901 was awarded a 2010 Hot Tech Demo Award.

The Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 features 4-in-1 capability, a Web-connected, 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen, and, as mentioned before, the world's lowest-cost black ink at just $4.99.

In addition to print, scan, copy and fax functions, SmartSolutions applications are available for free download and include shortcuts such as Business Card Scanning and apps for office tasks such as Scan to Evernote and Stamps.com Shipping.

Priced at $299.99, the Pinnacle Pro901 All-in-One color inkjet printer comes in at a slightly higher price point than your average AIO, but then again, did we ever say the Pinnacle Pro901 was average? Case in point: When saving money is your bottom line, this printer will keep you out of the red.

The Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 will be available in April at www.lexmark.com.

It's about time - Lexmark's have historical been more expensive than other brands. It's good to see they are finally finding ways to make a less expensive cartridge. Anyone know if these ink cartridges can be refilled?

Small and home offices print a lot of plain text, which is where the Pinnacle Pro901 shines. Its speed is nothing special: 6.3 pages per minute on the PC, and 3.9 ppm on the Mac--but text quality was unbelievably black and crisp.

It is now Sept 2010 and I just bought the Lexmark Pro901. I ordered it online from OfficeMax, not for $299.99 but for only $219.99 with free shipping. Great idea and this baby is delivering everything that it promises. Yes, it is a pretty machine, doesn't take much space, considering all it does. Really love it!

It was on sale at Office Depot for $200. and they gave me a $50. instant rebate for my old printer that only cost me $50. to begin with, so the 901 only cost me $150. + tax.

I got it on sale at Staples for 199.99 minus a 10% off making it 179.99. And they took my old broken piece of crap should have been thrown off a bridge printer, that only printed one page per minute in black for $50. Making the cost to me only 129.99. :-p

The absolute best printer I've ever owned (have owned about 8 or 9 over a 21 year period).

I've had this one for about 5 months and it is performing magnificently--so well, in fact, that it's earned the nickname, "Sexy Lexy".
