Nikon Adds Seven New Cameras to COOLPIX Line
PMA is coming up later this month and the new cameras announcements have already started rolling out. The latest is from Nikon. Today, Nikon introduced seven new COOLPIX digital cameras; the COOLPIX P100, S8000, S6000, S4000, S3000, COOLPIX L110 and L22.
The COOLPIX P100 is Nikon's first compact camera to offer full HD movie (1080p) recording with stereo sound. It also features a 3.0-inch Vari-Angle 460,000-dot Clear Color Display LCD and Electronic Viewfinder, 10.3 Megapixels, a 26x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED Glass Lens (27mm wide-angle to 678mm super-telephoto), HDMI connectivity, as well as a Backside illumination CMOS Sensor for high-speed continuous shooting at 10 frames per second (fps) at full resolution and beautiful pictures even in low light.
Additional features include In-Camera High Dynamic Range (HDR), Night Landscape Mode, 5-Way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization System, a new Sport Continuous Scene Mode, Subject Tracking, Pre-shooting Cache and Nikon's Smart Portrait System.
The COOLPIX P100 will be available in March 2010 for $399.95 in Black.
The new COOLPIX S8000 digital camera sports a 10x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED Glass Lens, 14.2 Megapixels, a 3.0-inch 921,000-dot LCD screen with bright Clear Color Display, a 4-way Image Stabilization System and ISO settings to 3200. The COOLPIX S800 records 720p HD Video at 30 frames per second (fps) with stereo sound and offers HDMI connectivity. The camera also has a new feature - the Creative Slider - which makes adjusting brightness, saturation and color tone in-camera easy by using the Rotary Multi Selector.
Additional features include Advanced Flash Control, Sport Continuous Mode, Subject Tracking and more.
The COOLPIX S8000 will be available in February 2010 for $299.95 in Black, Red, Champagne Silver, or Bronze.
The COOLPIX S6000 is only one-inch thick, but comes packed with a 7x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens, 14.2 Megapixels, HDMI connectivity and can record HD movie clips (720p) at 30 fps. It also includes a 2.7-inch 230,000-dot Clear Color Display LCD, 4-way VR Image Stabilization System, Subject Tracking, Scene Auto Selector Mode, Nikon's Smart Portrait System as well as Sport Continuous Mode and Advanced Flash Control. The S6000 also has a fast start-up time of approximately 0.75 seconds and a short shutter-release time of approximately 0.3 seconds.
The COOLPIX S6000 will be available in March 2010 for $249.95 in Champagne Silver, Red, Black or Bronze.
The COOLPIX S4000 not only has 12.0 Megapixels and a 4x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens, but comes with a touch-screen interface on its 3.0-inch 460,000-dot touch-panel Clear Color Display LCD. It also features a ISO sensitivity to 3200, 4-way VR Image Stabilization System, Subject Tracking, Scene Auto Selector Mode, and Nikon's Smart Portrait System. The camera also records HD movies at 720p with sound.
The COOLPIX S4000 will be available in March 2010 for $199.95 in Champagne Silver, Black, Red, Pink or Plum.
Nikon's COOLPIX S3000 is compact and has user-friendly advanced features. It includes a 2.7-inch 230,000-dot LCD screen, 12.0 Megapixels, a 4x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens (27mm wide-angle to 108mm telephoto), ISO 3200 Capability, 4-way VR Image Stabilization System, Subject Tracking, Scene Auto Selector Mode and Nikon's Smart Portrait System.
The COOLPIX S3000 will be available in March 2010 for $149.95 in Plum, Black, Blue, Champagne Silver, Green or Orange.
The 12.1-megapixel COOLPIX L110 features a 3.0-inch high-resolution (460,000-dot) LCD, HD 720p movie mode with built-in stereo microphone, and dedicated movie button, and a 15x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens (28mm wide-angle to 420mm super-telephoto). It also has a Sport Continuous Mode, which captures images at 11.1 frames per second (3 MP resolution) and a 5-way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization System.
The L110 runs off of four AA batteries and will be available in February 2010 for $279.95 in Black or Red.
The new, affordable COOLPIX L22 includes 12.0 Megapixels, a 3.6x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens (37mm wide-angle to 134mm telephoto), 3.0-inch LCD, ISO 1600 Capability, Easy Auto Mode with Scene Auto Selector and VR electronic image stabilization to help end blurry photos due to low light or camera shake.
The COOLPIX L22 also runs on AA batteries and will be available in February 2010 for $129.95 in Red, Black, Blue or Champagne Silver.
