MSI Wind U135 Special Edition Netbook Features Pine Trail Platform
MSI Computer yesterday announced the availability of the MSI Wind U135 netbook. These special edition netbooks are the first to feature the Intel Pine Trail Platform with the Atom N450 processor.
The Wind U135 Special Edition netbook features a 160GB or 250GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 memory and Windows 7 Starter. MSI also packed in a 1.3M webcam, D-Sub port, 3 USB 2.0 ports and 4x1 card reader.
Thanks to the new CPU and chipset, battery life is increased by 15% and performance by as much as 10%. A choice of a 3-cell or 6-cell battery is offered, with the 6-cell giving you a battery life of up to 7.5 hours. The U135's battery life also benefits from MSI's ECO Engine Technology and LED display. The ECO Engine technology lets you choose from 5 power modes–Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document and Turbo Battery–to customize the power supply based on what you need.
The U135 also received a design upgrade including a new raised chiclet keyboard and a color film printed case. The elevated keys are 20% larger and said to improve typing accuracy.
