PENTAX Unveils New Optio Digital Cameras; One Priced Under $100!

PENTAX just announced three new digital cameras, the Optio 1-10, Optio H90 and a new, affordable Optio model priced under $100 - the E90!

The Optio I-10 is the first in the new Optio I line from PENTAX. With an SLR-shaped body, the Optio I-10 features a wide angle, 5X optical zoom lens (28mm-140mm equivalent), a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 2.7 inch widescreen LCD, and HD video capture at 720p and 30 FPS. The camera also includes a mechanical sensor shift Shake Reduction system, Pixel Track Shake Reduction, Smile Capture, Blink Detection and Face Detection that spots up to 32 faces (including dogs and cats!).

Additional features include a Picture In Picture function, Digital Panorama mode, wireless remote shooting (with optional PENTAX remote control, sold separately) and more.

The Optio I-10 will be available in February 2010 in Classic Black and Pearl White for $299.95.

Also new is the PENTAX Optio H90. It features a wide angle 5X optical zoom lens (28mm-140mm equivalent), 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 2.7 inch color LCD, and widescreen HD video capture at 720p and 30 FPS. Other features include improved Pixel Track Shake Reduction technology, Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode, Face Detection, Smile Capture, Blink Detection and Intelligent Zoom functions.

The Optio H90 will be available in February 2010 in Orange-Silver, Matte Black and Ceramic White for $179.95.

Both the PENTAX Optio I-10 and Optio H90 offer Eye-Fi connectivity for use with Eye-Fi wireless memory cards.

Last but not least is the affordable Optio E90. It features a 10 megapixel CCD, 3X wide angle zoom (32mm-96mm equivalent) and a 2.7 inch LCD. Videos are shot at 640 x 480 pixels, and the High-speed continuous shooting mode records 16 images (fixed at 640 x 480 pixels) in two seconds. Priced at just $99.95, this model is a steal!

Additional features include an Auto Picture mode and a high 6400 ISO that freezes subject movement in Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode. It even has a "Green mode" for beginners which automatically selects exposure settings, ISO sensitivity and other factors for novice photographers.

Available in Black and Wine Red, the Optio E90 runs on AA batteries and will ship in February 2010.
