Completely Redesigned 2011 Toyota Sienna Hits Dealerships February 2010
We previously told you about the innovative Auto Access Seats that will be available in the new 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, and now we're glad to say that production of the 2011 Sienna is underway!
Toyota has redesigned the new Sienna to make it better than ever. The interior is two-inches longer, the doors are wider, and it has a sportier, more upscale appearance. Fuel economy is good too. A choice of two engines will be available: a 3.5-liter V6 or 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. This is the first time Toyota has made a four-cylinder engine available in the Sienna. The 3.5-liter V6 has an expected EPA-estimated mileage rating of 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway (16 mpg city/22 mpg highway on AWD models). The 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine has an expected EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Another first is the new rear-seat Dual View Entertainment Center. It uses two displays side-by-side to create a 16.4-inch widescreen image. When two separate entertainment options are wanted, you can split the system into two individual screens. Used as a single screen, it can even be seen from the third row! The system can be operated from any seat via remote control. It also includes the world's first Panorama Camera rear monitor with a 180-degree view, and on-screen back-up guides to that help drivers to back into parking spots or driveways.
Toyota didn't forget about safety. The 2011 Sienna has The Star Safety System, which includes Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control (TRAC). It comes standard on all Sienna models. A Pre-Collision System (PCS) with pre-collision seatbelt system is an available option on Limited, as well as the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system. Seven airbags come standard, and the new Safety Connect telematics system is standard on Limited and optional on XLE. Safety Connect provides you with Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), and Roadside Assistance. A complimentary one-year trial subscription is included.
The 2011 Sienna will come in five grades: Sienna grade, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. All-wheel-drive is available with the V6 on LE, XLE and Limited models. All others are front-wheel drive. It will begin arriving at Toyota dealerships in February 2010 with the SE and four-cylinder-equipped models going on sale in April. The base MSRP for the new Sienna will range from $24,260 for the Sienna grade with a four-cylinder engine to $39,770 for the Sienna Limited all-wheel-drive (AWD) V6.
