 Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20

Are you looking for an easy way to get surround sound? Or do you just not have room for a full 5-piece setup? Boston Acoustics today announced the new TVee Model 20 Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer System, a great solution for those limited on space. Priced at $299.99, the system adds room-filling sound (including bass) to your TV.

Sized just right for TVs measuring 32-inches and up, the TVee Model 20's soundbar can be mounted on the wall or placed on a flat surface, and the system's wireless subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room. The soundbar easily connects to the TV's line-level output with just one cable. The TVee 20 also features Boston's remote Learning Function that learns the signal coming from your existing remote, so the TVee's volume and mute commands can be controlled without the need for an additional remote.

The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 is scheduled to be available in stores in March 2010 for $299.99. Get all the details in the press release below.

Press release:

INTRODUCING BOSTON ACOUSTICS' NEW TVee MODEL 20: THE NEXT GENERATION IN BOSTON’S BREAKTHROUGH SOUNDBAR SYSTEM THAT SIMPLY ENHANCES TV SOUND

-- Incorporating Innovative New "HHRT" Drivers Combined with an Advanced Compact Wireless Subwoofer, Model 20 Provides Convenient and Affordable "Plug and Play" Room-Filling Sound --

January 6, 2010 -- Boston Acoustics, a pioneer in both soundbar loudspeaker systems and advanced wireless technology, today announced the upcoming release of its TVee Model 20 Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer System (MAP: $299.99). Following the success of the company's TVee Model 2, the affordably priced TVee Model 20 utilizes a slim soundbar and matching wireless subwoofer to add powerful, room-filling sound and powerful bass to any television experience. The TVee Model 20 will also deliver this improved television experience at a new lower price thanks to Boston Acoustics' innovative new "HHRT" (Hyberbolic High Rigidity Transducer) driver technology, and Boston's engineering teams' continued value engineering efforts. The TVee Model 20 is scheduled to be available in stores in March 2010.

Finished in an attractive gloss black, and perfectly sized for TVs measuring 32 inches and up, the TVee Model 20's sleek soundbar can be mounted on the wall either above or below the TV, or can rest on any flat surface, and connects to the TV’s line-level output with just a single cable. Listeners can place the system's wireless subwoofer anywhere in the room, even out of sight, which adds to the system's convenience and flexibility. The TVee 20 also features Boston’s innovative remote Learning Function that learns the signal coming from a user's existing remote, thereby controlling the TVee's volume and mute commands without the need for an additional remote.

Boston Acoustics applied its years of experience with low-distortion, wide-bandwidth drivers to create the new HHRT drivers featured in the TVee Model 20. The light and rigid cone uses a new and highly complex shape to reduce distortion, widen the "sweet spot", and enhance dynamic performance. The system's wireless subwoofer's 6-inch down firing bass driver complements the rich audio experience delivered by the soundbar's state-of-the-art, full range drivers. The total system power is 100 watts (RMS).

Eli Harary, Senior Vice President, Global Brand Management & Business Development for Boston Acoustics, noted: "We have experienced tremendous success with the TVee Model 2 since its introduction in 2007. The popularity of the product inspired us to update the system, offering the same simplicity of functionality and high-quality audio as the Model 2, but at an even more attractive and affordable price."

TVee and LG TV

I bought a new LG TV LED lcd. I bought the TVee to hook up to it but the tv doesn't have the normal red/white outputs so you have to hook it up to the H/P hookup with a special cable. The problem is that the soundbar comes on but shuts off after on for a minute. It won't stay on and I'm not sure if it is the TV's H/P output that is bad or if this sound bar just won't work with this LG tv. Any help would be appreciated!

LG tv and Tvee model 20 issue

i have bought LG Led tv and cant connect it to the soundbar, no RCA out on TV just the Optical. cant also program the remote, the learning mode on soundbar doesnt come on. just bought the soundbar today. any help? i have connected it to the cable box but cant use it with dvd player unless switch connection or use TV speaker.

remote programming pain

I followed the steps in the manual for syncing my remote with the sound bar. I followed them over and over and over to no avail. The last thing I want to have to do is get up out of my EZ chair to turn down volume on the SB.
My son connected it to the TV. Might it make a difference if it's connected to the cable box? If so, shouldn't that be mentioned in the manual? Why not just include a remote for chrissakes?

Perfect for us

After reviewing a lot of soundbars, it was one great feature that pushed me to the Boston Acoustics TVEEM20B: the ability of the system to learn your remote commands (volume and mute). We have Dish programming and I did not want to have another remote or give up the great remote from Dish (with its skip forward and backward features to easily skip through TV commercials). Not only did the system learn the remote commands easily, the thing sounds great. We paired it with a new Toshiba 55 inch LED TV. Originally, we were impressed that the TV sounded not that bad, once I had tweaked the default settings to eliminate the enhanced bass (which made it sound hollow). But, after watching a music concert we thought the sound could improve. Tested the TVEEM20B on that same concert and it sounded great. The room is large, 18' x 18' with a high ceiling. No problem filling the room with sound. And the adjustable wireless woofer can be hidden easily as well. The whole thing set up in minutes.

Same thing happening to me,

Same thing happening to me, and the remote won't program. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I can't find anywhere to get any help and am so frustrated am about ready to return it!

sound bar problems

I am having the same probelm. Did you ever find a solution?

Remoet

SAme problem here with the remote. I can program volume up and mute but not volume down!!! So frustrating!!

Program volume up, not mute and volume down

Posted: 12/30/10 Unit purchased at Best Buy Amarillo and was the last one in stock:

I sent an email to Boston Acoustic asking them for either a workaround or an answer to this failure. Programming steps are clear enough: follow the three steps for each function you plan to program for; volume up, volume down and volume mute. Volume up works just fine. Its as though the programming for volume down and mute aren't working. After programming volume up, ANY programming I do continues to be volume up. Hit the volume down and the sound goes up. Hit mute and the sound goes up.

Definitely a program logic error in the processor of the TVee 20.

I'll try to post any repair steps I get from BA here.

volume controls do not work further than five feet

Easy setup and sounds great; however, the remote volume controls do not work when 5 feet or more away. What needs to be done to rectify?

We are also having the same

We are also having the same issue - you have to be within 5 or so feet for the remote to work and it has to be pointed directly at the sound bar to work - and even then it takes a few times for it to work. Anyone find a work around? The employee at best buy we spoke to said she hand't heard of this problem, and to return it...but I'd rather just have it work.

I remember when I was a

I remember when I was a freshman in High School and my brother was getting heavy into sound and computers. He had a tiny pair of Boston speakers, yet they had great sound and were able to blast. It was amazing to me, a naive freshman. How could so much sound be coming from something so small?!?

I also face the same problem.

I also face the same problem. Plz tell me the solution as soon as possible.best mosquito traps

programme remote

We found the solution was to follow the books instructions not the quick set up sheet Clear the memory on the bar first.
Hold the programme button down on its own till it changes to flashing amber
then press the button you wish to programme either mute/ vol.up /vol.down when the prog light turns solid amber let go and point the remote at the bar 12 ins away and slowly press the controls button for the same command mut/vol.up/ or vol. down. release and repeat about 4 time holding and releasing for a good second the prog light turns green when it has successfully 'learnt' the command
