New Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D Notebook Turns 2D into 3D!

Just announced today is the new Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D notebook computer. I know what you're thinking…"What, another new laptop?" This one is different, however. With 3D viewing technology, watching movies and playing games will never be the same.

The Aspire 5738DG features the TriDef 3D solution, which includes a 3D screen, software and glasses for viewing content in 3D. Not only does it handle 3D content, but it also takes 2D content and replicates 3D. You can also switch from standard viewing to 3D with a simple mouse click. Another plus, a special graphics card isn't needed for viewing content in 3D.

How does it work, you ask? The 15.6-inch Acer CineCrystal HD display is coated with a special 3D film which clings to each pixel, enabling the LCD technology to deliver a 3D image. Simply slip on a pair of 3D eyeglasses (included), which filter 2D images to 3D, and enjoy! The TriDef Media Player can be used for playback of videos and photos in 3D, while the TriDef Ignition tool to converts games and applications from 2D to 3D (those supporting DirectX 9 and above).

Other features include a 320GB hard drive, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 Graphics with 512 Dedicated DDR3 VRAM, Dolby Home Theater Audio Enhancement with built-in stereo speakers and 5.1-channel surround sound, multi-in-one media reader, HDMI port, and four USB 2.0 ports.

The notebook also has integrated 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N wireless technology and Gigabit Ethernet, a Crystal Eye webcam, as well as a Multi-Gesture Touchpad. It runs on Windows 7 Home Premium.
