Dell Latitude Z Offers Wireless Charging (at a Cost)
Dell's new Latitude Z laptop is what the company calls "the world's first ultra-thin 16-inch laptop." Weighing in at 4.5 pounds and measuring less than an inch thin, the Latitude Z comes standard with a four-cell battery. But what makes this laptop really stand out is it's the first laptop to offer wireless inductive charging via a docking station (sold separately).
The Latitude Z also includes a 1600x900 WLED display and a two megapixel camera with Dell Capture technology that lets you scan and save business cards to Microsoft Outlook contacts, as well as copy documents to PDF.
Features:
- Lean tapered design and soft-touch Black Cherry finish
- Dell's EdgeTouch allows users to interact with commonly used applications and media controls through a touch interface that is on the bezel of the system's screen
- Spacious multi-touch touchpad and silky-touch backlit keyboard
- Dell FaceAware Lock-Out automatically locks out other users when a user steps away from the laptop
- Instant ON Access: Dell Latitude ON technology helps you to get up and running fast. Simply turn it ON for instant, no boot-up wait time
The Latitude Z is also available with WLAN, Bluetooth and optional 3G WWAN mobile broadband. It is available today, starting at $1,999. If you want the docking station, be prepared to spend an additional $200 (and wait until late October). More details are available at www.dell.com/latitude.
