Geek Squad Makes Windows 7 Upgrade Easy

 Windows 7

Are you going to upgrade from Windows Vista or XP to Windows 7 when it becomes available on October 22? If so, Best Buy's Geek Squad can do it for you for just $39.99. That's a deal, considering the standard Geek Squad Operating System Install price is $129.99!

Also, if you purchased a qualifying PC from Best Buy between June 26, 2009 and October 21, 2009, you don't have to wait for the mail (visit www.bestbuy.com/windows7upgrade to see if you qualify). Simply bring the PC and receipt to the nearest Best Buy Geek Squad location and receive a free Windows 7 upgrade instantly when the $39.99 upgrade service is purchased on or after October 22.

Some older computers will have additional steps to take because of the differences in the operating systems. Windows XP and some basic versions of Vista will require formatting the hard drive. Geek Squad recommends that you back up your data ahead of time to avoid loss. Please note that data backup is not included in the $39.99 upgrade price.

The upgrade service will only be available on site at Best Buy Geek Squad locations. To find a location near you, visit www.geeksquad.com.

Want to upgrade on your own? Best Buy has some tools to help you through the process at www.bestbuylabs.com/win7upgrade.
