HP DreamScreen Connects You to Facebook, Pandora
HP just announced the new HP DreamScreen. A wireless connected screen, HP says that it will become "the 'fourth screen' in people's lives, extending the enjoyment of digital content beyond a computer, TV and mobile phone."
The HP DreamScreen allows you to stay current with Facebook friends, listen to Internet radio, share Snapfish photos and enjoy music from your home networked PCs. It has 2GB of memory, 802.11 b/g connectivity, and a card reader. Digital content can be loaded using a USB drive or flash memory cards. Photos and music can be streamed wirelessly or moved to the HP DreamScreen by simply dragging and dropping from a networked PC.
Music can be streamed from the Internet using Pandora. Don't want to use Pandora? HP has another option. HP SmartRadio is a new service that aggregates streams of live Internet broadcasts from more than 10,000 radio stations around the world, so you're sure to find something you like. Speakers are built in to the device and a headphone jack is included as well.
The HP DreamScreen features a built-in clock (with dual time zones), calendar and displays five-day weather forecasts. A remote control is included and both models come with a stand. The unit can be placed on a table or mounted on the wall.
The 10.2-inch HP DreamScreen 100 is available now for $249 online from BestBuy.com, Amazon.com and HPDirect.com. The HP DreamScreen 100 will be available in Best Buy retail stores starting Oct. 11.
The HP DreamScreen 130, measuring 13.3 inches, will be available this fall for $299.
