Samsung Announces Two Affordable, 12 Megapixel Cameras

 Samsung SL Series Digital Cameras

The new SL720 and SL502 offer 12.2 megapixels, 5x optical zoom and eye-catching style. With the SL720, users have access to a 28mm wide-angle lens, while the SL502 offers a standard 35mm lens. The SL720 and SL502 offer powerful 5x optical zooms and are each paired with image stabilization to help reduce blur caused by hand movements.

The SL720 features Dual Image Stabilization, which combines both optical and digital stabilization technology, while the SL502 offers Digital Image Stabilization. Users can also frame their shots and review their images on the cameras' large LCD screens. The SL720 is equipped with a 3-inch LCD and the SL502 comes equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD.

The cameras feature 11 different scene modes, Samsung's Smart Auto shooting mode and Face Recognition technology. Also, the SL720 can record up to 720p, which can be played on an HDTV through an optional HDMI cradle sold separately.

Both Samsung models are expected to release in August for a MSRP of $229.99 (SL720) and $149.99 (SL502).
