Ultra-thin Laptop Featuring VIA nano Processor Unveiled

Tongfong, a huge Chinese developer, displayed its new S30A laptop at Computex this week. At only 1.3-inches thick, the S30A features a 13.3-inch display, a 1.3GHz VIA Nano U2250 processor, S3 Chrome 435 ULP graphics, 2GB of DDRII RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, an ExpressCard slot and a built-in DVD burner.

The S230A is equipped with a six cell battery, as well as an option for an additional three cell battery that can be inserted in place of the optical drive. Tongfong has not announced a release date or price, yet. Some even speculate that we might see this, in the states, under a different name.

Based on the specs, I definitely see this being priced under $1,000, which is great for market that once was saturated with $2,000+ laptops. Check out the press release here.
