PSPgo is Officially a Go!
The PSPgo will go on sale in North America, Europe/ PAL territories and Asian countries and regions on October 1st, 2009 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of US$249 and euro 249. Japan will, surprisingly, be last to get the PSPgo on November 1st, 2009 at a RRP of 26,800 yen (including tax).
The PSPgo will remove the UMD loading tray and replace it with 16GB of internal memory. This will be greatly useful with PSP now having access to the PSN store.
When the PSP launches, the colors will be Piano Black and Pearl White. The current PSP 3000 will be sold alongside the PSPgo so consumers can choose which one suits him/her best.
Other features of the PSPgo include:
- Easy Sliding Display Panel and Original Applications - When the panel is open, users will be able to enjoy various entertainment content with the familiar button control as PSP-3000, when closed, original applications for PSPgo, such as a clock and calendar is displayed on the screen. Users can also enjoy video and music when the panel is closed.
- Game sleep function – This enables users to operate XMB (XrossMediaBar) while pausing gameplay temporarily.
- Bluetooth function – This allow users to connect Bluetooth standard peripherals such as headphones and headsets, as well as, a PS3 wireless controller to be used when watching video content on TVs via PSP at home.
